Animal Archetypes in the Collective Conciousness
“The collective unconscious contains the whole spiritual heritage of mankind's evolution born anew in the brain structure of every individual.”
- Carl Jung
The Metaphors and Motifs contained in this collection are explored through the work of famous psychoanalyst Carl Gustav Jung and his theories of the collective consciousness which is the shared collective storage of mankind's most important ideas, images and themes. This shared consciousness is expanded through art and language is buried in history. After studying the collective for many years Jung expanded his work with the introduction of archetypes. Archetypes are symbols and motifs that recur again and again in history shared by most of the collective, crossing cultural and geographic boundaries always rising and ending the same way.
These archetypes are primordial symbols wired in our brain as one of humankind.
The house of Rzeka volante surveyed all major archetypes, understanding their symbolism and history, concluding that the themes we want to explore in this collection are of the most primal and instinctive nature, we then distilled that investigation into archetypal animals of myth and mystery is right way to go. Giving us in rzeka volante a chance to bring forth the ancient symbols such as the dragon, the garuda and the snake on our clothing line.
